5 Pro Tips for What to Do When You’re Needing Quick Cash

August 13, 2020 / by Andrew / Leave a Comment

78% of workers live paycheck-to-paycheck. A single missed shift can wreak financial chaos, causing tumbling credit scores and unpaid debts.

Don’t give up on paying your bills yet, though. There may still be some ways to make ends meet.

Hard times call for creative solutions. Here are five things to do when you’re needing quick cash!

1. Ask for Extra Work

If you’re already employed, you don’t necessarily have to look elsewhere for additional work. Speak with your boss or supervisor and ask if you can work a few extra hours.

While you’re not guaranteed extra work, the fact that you’re showing initiative and asking is a big plus in the eyes of many employers.

2. Capitalize on a Craft

Do you have a skill like knitting, writing, or painting that you love to hone in your off-time? Now is the perfect time to capitalize on those passions!

Sites like Etsy are perfect for artists looking to sell their newest paintings or custom goods. Meanwhile, sites like Fiverr, Craigslist, or even Upwork can help writers and illustrators find freelance work.

This strategy is a win-win. You’ll get to make money doing what you love, plus you’ll strengthen your artistic abilities and build your portfolio in the process.

3. Join a Delivery or Rideshare Service

An estimated 57 million US workers are part of the gig economy, working for businesses like Uber, Lyft, Postmates, or more.

While these gigs aren’t enough to replace your full-time job, spending a few extra hours delivering groceries or driving customers around is a great way to make ends meet.

Also, the requirements for these companies aren’t particularly strict. As long as you can pass a basic background check and have a working vehicle, you should be able to start working in a few short days.

4. Sell Blood Plasma

Selling blood plasma might not be the first idea on your list, but there are plenty of merits for doing so.

For starters, you’ll help save someone’s life. Blood plasma transfers boost the antibodies in patients fighting anemia and even cancer.

Plus, plasma donation centers pay immediately. While you won’t get rich off of selling your plasma — especially since donation centers have limits — donating can be a good way to score a quick $50 or so.

5. Get a Loan

If you’re still having trouble coming up with quick cash, there’s always the option of applying for a loan. Short term loans, while heavy on interest, have the advantage of speed and ease.

Applying for a loan takes only a few minutes, and you’ll typically get your payment within a few days at most.

If you’re looking for a company to assist with loans, Captain Cash is a great resource. They’ll walk you through the steps of the process, plus there’s no credit check.

Needing Quick Cash? Try These Five Strategies

Next time you’re needing quick cash, give these strategies a shot. No matter where your passions lie or what your monetary needs are, there’s a way to pay the bills at the end of the month!
