Most people are always in search of some new food to experience. Whether you love spicy food or spend your dieting days dreaming of cheese, there’s still a new dish out there that you haven’t tried yet! Here are the top three cuisines, and the full plates of each of them, that most people overlook when they should give them a try!
Simple Southern
When most people think of southern food, staples like rolled biscuits, fried chicken, and cornbread come to mind. Although these are incredible foods that everyone enjoys, they aren’t’ the only dishes the American South offers! Some Southern foods are fundamental in a way that makes them even more enjoyable. A classic that everyone outside of the south should try is a tomato sandwich. It sounds simple, but it’s divine. For this, you need the ripest large tomato you can find, like an heirloom or beefsteak variety, two slices of the cheapest white bread you can find (it has to stick to the roof of your mouth when you take a bite), a knife full of mayo, and a little salt and pepper. Slice the tomatoes, set two or three slices on the bread, sprinkle this with the salt and pepper, and then cover the other portion with a good layer of mayo before pressing it down on top. A juicy tomato will make you want to eat this over the sink, and don’t worry! That’s the best way to enjoy this sandwich.
Colorado Classics
Colorado, a state full of gorgeous views and incredible people, has secrets hidden away in its restaurants. You might not think about it when looking at the country, but this place has some of the most creative cooks in the world. You can get a real bison burger, full of rich and juicy meat, or even try a slopper- which is a burger coated in chili until you have to eat it with a fork and knife. Colorado’s food is hearty to get you through the long nights and delicious enough to make you start searching for Denver real estate to move into! Don’t hold back; once you get your first bite of Colorado food, you’ll want nothing else for the rest of your life.
Arizona Amazements
Arizona often gets overlooked when it comes to food. Going past this state would be a huge mistake, though! From Sonoran hot dogs (that come stacked up with enough toppings that you might lose the meat and buns!) to the best menudo on Earth, Arizona has it all. The best restaurants to order from are the smaller and unassuming ones because these usually have tried and true recipes that go back for generations. What this means for you is that you’ll get to try foods that are the same as they were made hundreds and hundreds of years ago, like tasting history. Do be warned, though! If you don’t like spicy food, or you can’t handle much heat, Arizona isn’t the place to try it out. Their food kicks it up a notch into precise temperatures that may leave your tongue crying.
