3 Ways To Improve Business Travel

October 31, 2019 / by Andrew / Leave a Comment

Business travel is often required in today’s ever changing world making our lives even more hectic than they already are, so why not devise a plan specific to your needs and alleviate some unnecessary stress.

We can all benefit by being prepared, expecting the unexpected and overcoming and adapting to whatever situation we may encounter. Make you business journey experiences more desirable by implementing some strategic concepts and allow yourself the pleasure of knowing that you have what it takes to make your business travel plans a success.

Check these three helpful ideas and turn a stressful trip into an adventure.

Capitalise on the importance of luggage

Whether you are a well seasoned traveller or new to the process purchasing top notch luggage can be a lifesaver. Choose the right bag for your needs, be sure it has enough compartments to accommodate everything from your toiletries to your shoes.

If possible, try and limit your bags to carry on only. Check with your travel agent or your airline provider regarding the carry-on policy so you know you are within the guidelines. Once you depart the plane you can head straight to the hotel instead of waiting at the luggage carousel.

Rolling your clothes aids in preventing wrinkles and provides much needed space for being able to pack everything you require.

Decompress the Stress

Take advantage of the amenities provided by the hotel, reserve an appointment for a soothing massage in their luxurious spa or make your way to the pool for a relaxing dip. You have many options to choose from. Mix it up, try something new, explore different outlets and find your Zen.

When work is done its done, plan on a quiet evening order room service, light your favorite scented candle and slip into the over-sized Jacuzzi in your room. Swathe yourself in the velvety bathrobe that the hotel has graciously provided and hunker down to an evening of binge watching your favorite show.

Allow time to check into your home base, letting your loved ones know that you are safe, and sound provides peace of mind for everyone.

Execute a blueprint

Planning and preparation are essential for formulating your business travel plans. Channel your inner Boy Scout by being as prepared and organized as possible. Make a list check it often to avoid forgetting important things. Download an App that helps you organize important times, places, and events, or work with a business travel agency.

Create an itinerary of where you are expected to be throughout your journey, make several copies and give them to the people that need to know how to reach you in case of emergency. Inform those people of any new or last-minute changes that can often occur unexpectedly.

Remember Murphy’s Law “whatever can go wrong will go wrong”, having a contingency plan in place will help brace you for anything that occurs.

When your ready for your next business trip try incorporating these ideas into your business travel agenda and take control towards ensuring a more pleasant, and less hectic adventure. You just might pleasantly amazed by the outcome.
