Boysetfire was founded in 1994:
Boysetsfire was founded in 1994 in Newark, Delaware. In the same year the newly founded band released their first demo albums. Three of the band’s founding members Nathan Gray, Josh Latshaw and Chad Istvan, have stayed with Boysetfire for the entirety of its existance. While the forth and fifth founding members of the band, Darrell Hyde and Matt Krupanski, chose to leave the band, in order to pursue other musical projects. If you’re curious Darrell Hyde chose to leave the band in 1999, while Matt Krupanski stayed with Boysetfire until 2013.

Nathan Gray is Boysetfire’s lead vocalist:
Nathan Gray who is responsible for forming Boysetfire has been the group’s lead vocalist since 1994, which is an impressive feat. Josh Latshaw and Chad Istvan who are also original members of Boysetfire both provide vocals for Boysetfire’s tracks and also play the guitar.
They released their first EP in 1996:
In 1996 Boysetfire released their first EP, which was titled “This Crying, This Screaming, My Voice is Being Born”.
In 1997 Boysetfire released their first professionally produced studio album:
In 1997, just three years after Boysetfire was founded, the band released their first full length studio album, which was titled “The Day the Sun Went Out”.
Their first tour occurred in 1999:
Although they released their first full length studio album in 1997, Boysetfire didn’t set out on their first tour until 1999, when they toured with Snapcase. Who they also released a split EP with. In the same year the band also toured with Vans Warped Tour.
In 2006 Boysetfire announced their hiatus:
In 2006 Boysetfire disappointed their long time fans when they decided to announce their retirement. As a last hurrah the band decided to complete one last tour together through Europe. Unfortunately one of the band’s members Josh Latshaw incurred a serious injury prior to the start of the tour, so the band had no choice but to replace him with one of their Roadie’s Chris Rakus, in order to perform for their European fans.
European fans of Boysetfire, were in for an extra treat when the band temporarily reunited in 2007, in order to give their formally injured band member Josh Latshaw, a chance to perform a European farewell tour.
Boysetfire decided to reunite in 2010:
Three years after Boysetfire retired as a group, Boysetfire made the decision to reunite. Much to the delight of their die hard fans.
Boysetfire released a new album in 2015:
Not only did Boysetfire stay together, they also released a brand new professionally produced album in 2015, which was their sixth self titled album.
