hey
so i am home.
this is a difficult entry to write. i have wracked my brain trying to find the perfect way to say what i wanna say in the best possible. but everything i try put together sounds trite and a little cliche.
so i guess i will just say what is my heart.
thank you.
thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and your donations and for your kind words.
thank you to everyone who took time to write a letter or send and email.
i get choked up.
you guys have made such a difference. i couldn’t have done it without you.
l love you all.

Josh,
It is so wonderful to hear from you! Even though a difficult situation, I'm so happy that we(your fans) could give back something, in return for everything that bsf has given us throughout the years.
Thank You.

There were so many times that I turned to BSF when I need it, so we will be there for you when you need us. I have so many memories wrapped up in your music, I cant wait until you make more. Keep your chin up and fight fight fight.
See you on the road...
Posted by: Chris at October 19, 2006 10:11 AM
i heard what happened to josh last night and i had a road trip allready set up to university of maryland, which is not far. i am a very snobby music fan with extremely high standards and i can promise that always your music give me goose bumps, and on a number of occations your music has brought me to tears and helped me love myself when the dream goes astray, your message of home and remebering your heritage and being aware of those who care for you, that message was not taken lightly, YEARS have past and as you have grown up so have your fans. because of the warmth you all have put in my heart i live for today. love and thanks we are strangers and family.
Posted by: mike from fairfax at October 19, 2006 04:03 PM
Compared to the brilliant music you wrote, a support message is nothing i think. Get well soon Josh, we'll always be with you!

Josh, you're an inspiration to me in a whole new way.
Posted by: Voltron at October 19, 2006 10:38 PM
yah, like everyone else has said, you dont have to thank us for being there for you...
whenever i needed some inspiration bsf was always just as far away as the cd player. in my life, i had never met anyone who thought about things the way i did, until my brother introduced me to your music... it gave me a sense of belonging and inspiration. and friends came and went, but bsf was always there... you all would come out into the crowd and talk to whoever wanted to talk and what we said was just as important as what anyone said...one tour i told you guys i wanted you all to play vehicle next time around...you said "yah, we've been hearing a lot of people saying that"... next time you toured and came to new england you played vehicle... beautifully!!! there is not ONE other band who i would expect that from... there may have been more talented musicians, there may have been better song writers, but as a group, as an inspiration, i dont think anyone could ever reach what you guys have accomplished. and for that WE THANK YOU!!! and now you guys have retired, which is understandable, but don't for one FUCKING SECOND think that your fans have retired!!!!!!!!!!!! we will always have your music... we will always have your words, we will always have your inspiration, we will always have the memories, and we will always fight the good fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: jay at October 19, 2006 10:48 PM
okay......
so i just searched for after the eulogy on interpunk.com.... its not there.... they used to be a reputable site for underground music.... i've gone through atleast three copies of that cd since its release....AND I NOW COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GUYS RETIRED.... how can a product which redefined music as we all know it and will forever be the album by which i compare every single cd i buy for the rest of my life, not even be available to purchase on a reputable "underground" punk music site....its okay... the new My Chemical Romance cd is the top seller there..... no offense to them, im sure they are good people.... but JOSH, you mean soooooooooooo much to us.... and BSF, you mean soooooooo much to us....it just doesnt make any sense how these gimmicky band-wagon-jumpers can get more recognition than BOY SETS FIRE!!!!
i hope you recover completely....i hope you come back as good as new...and i hope someone somewhere (you???) shows "america" what is real, what music should be, what we should hope to be

Well wow dude this is just amazing how far you have come in so little time. I mean how many people live after falling 3 stories and landing on their back? Not to many if I had to guess and the chances of a miracle are slim there too. BSF means the world to me and I was heartbroken when I heard you had gotten hurt. I prayed every morning and night for you and your family. Well I guess all of our prayers came true, God would have to be pretty lame to leave this one unanwsered and I think I can get just about everyone here to agree with me on this. Just wishing you the best of luck and prayers on your journey to recovery. Keep up the good work bro and take it easy.

i want to thank you all for the great years and concerts i could spend with you. remembering the first one in the stattbahnhof in schweinfurt when i talked with nathan for 2 hours in german until the last time i saw you in milan about one and a half years ago on the deconstruction tour. i enjoyed the time with you in the bus, at rock am ring, in bologna... all over europe. i'm only realizing now that i might never see you again... it's hard, but i wish you all the best. you guys make the music i always carried around with me in my heart, searching for the band who was able to play it. and i found YOU!!! if you ever come to the old world, let us know, i bet half of our continent would come to see you.
LOVE to all of you, also to my BIG BAD HOS ROB (ex-bass)

You guys are really fuckin awesome. you can see that my e-mail address is Eviction Article, which is you're best song. I realize you may not read this, because you have millions of other letters coming in, but if you do, I wish you the very best, sonoma county wishes you the very best, and BSF nation wishes you the very best.

Hey there guy. Ya know after 10 years of loving your music and trying to replicate the same kind of emotion that is on display whenever i play a bsf cd and thinking about our drinking nights in pittsburgh, alabama, florida, ohio and pennsylvania, i have come to one conclusion. life is so precious.
when i went through life changing events you guys were always around.. babies, divorce, moves. you've always been around. you guys have meant more to me than most of the people i call friends. and now time to make you blush. I've always looked up to you josh. musically, family-wise, and your integrity in life. i'm just glad that you can continue that integrity in what ever way you are able to. because you have given people so much hope and reason to believe in a better tomorrow.
