« Josh In Philadelphia | Main | September 7th Show is STILL HAPPENING »

August 29, 2006

Prognosis

Josh met with a team of doctors today. The chief doctor was there and Josh asked him what he thought. He said, "You wanna know what I think? I think you're fuckin' lucky to be alive."

They then proceeded to tell him he will be at Magee for a month, but that then he will WALK out of the hospital when he goes home.

Good news all around.

Lucky Josh! What the hell happened anyway?

Posted by: Eric at August 29, 2006 06:11 PM

a month??? wow, congratulations!!!!!!! ...hey now you're a rockstar..you've entered rehab!

Posted by: jakedts at August 29, 2006 07:10 PM

That's fucking amazing. Josh is superman.

Posted by: Kelly at August 29, 2006 07:45 PM

That's so great to hear!!! Honestly, so happy for him.
I have a somewhat selfish question: Do you think the final BSF show will be shortly after that date? I only ask because I am buying a pretty far away plane ticket, and it's always the sooner the better to buy plane tickets. They should play on a Sat. too for the people that have 6-8hour traveling and can't get Fridays off work. Selfish selfish I know. But I am very happy to hear Mr.Latshaw is on his feet!

kick ass

Posted by: odle at August 29, 2006 09:09 PM

glad to hear the big man is on the mend!
i hope you can pass my best wishes on and hopes for a speedy recovery, josh was in my thoughts all weekend at Leeds festival and all the BSF fans i spoke to expressed their sadness that he wouldn't be able to rock out with us one last time.
I've been lucky enough to see BSF a bunch of times, and even meet josh twice and he always struck me as a top, top bloke (as did the other lads) and as wishful thinking as it might be i still hope that Saturday won't be the last time i see any/all of the band.
Thanks so much for creating such insightful and brilliant music, and i hope for Josh's speedy recovery and best wishes for everyone (current and ex bsf members)for the future.
thanks guys,
ian.

Hi BSF,

I was there in Utrecht Holland, we were standing in the back, left corner, perhaps you saw my half naked girlfriend... (kidding) But, it was my first time I have heard your music, and now continuesly hearing it... bought albums and to bad you told us you are stopping... why? Man, your music is insane... to bad..... BUT in a couple of years i will move to usa and when I arive I wanna give Josh a hand and together we go out for a drink!

Wow a lot has happened since I last checked this site. It is unfortunate what happened to Josh but I am very glad that now things are looking better than they first seemed. Get well Josh! You'll be fine soon! What I want to say is... it is very sad about what's going to happen to the band. All these news came at me at once leaving my eyes teary and a bitter taste inside. BSF has been and meant literally everything to for the last 7 years of my life. I never got a chance to see a band live because of busy lifestyle and lack of transportation. BSF's music and inspirational lyrics/words has gotten me through high school, college, and now I have a decent start at my career with my new job. You guys have been with me through everything and that is why it is very sad knowing that it's halting here. You guys left SO MUCH legacy behind you. Not many bands are able to accomplish what you have and battle for what you believe so hard. Yes guys maybe it's time to take a break and dedicate your lives to your families and kids. You've taught us so much and now it's our job to take over from here. Truly thank you for everything and I hope there will be another show in US North-Eastern region that I can attend at last. You'll always be in our hearts.

Posted by: Mikhail at August 30, 2006 06:25 PM

Well I'm glad that you pulled through Josh. Proves there are miracles after all. And as far as the last show, you guys play when your ready to come back and rock!

Posted by: Kellee at August 31, 2006 12:40 AM

Finally some good news! Josh must be going through some very hard times right now and I hope that all the support shown here and at other places will at least be a small comfort to him.
The show in Hamburg was amazing. Even though I missed Josh and his singing of "high-pitched nonsense" as he called it, they still managed to perform with such energy and compassion. I'm grateful for Nathan's comments and I appreciate the fact that he wanted to make it look like a goodbye party and just have some fun instead of being all serious and going into political and social issues. Just wasn't the right time.
I've been suffering from some spinal problems myself for years now but I can't even begin to imagine what Josh must be going through. Just wanna let him know that he's not alone, as far as I can tell he got his family and close friends all around him. Hang in there, buddy.

I'm really glad to hear that you will be ok Josh. I've been pulling for you. To hear you are back in Philly and at a good hospital puts the mind at ease. I can't wait to hear of the day when you do walk out of that hospital because if anyone deserves it it would be you!

righetous news. So very rad.

So glad to hear Josh will be OK. I'm still praying daily. Thanks for being a fighter Josh. Miracles still happen, and I'm thankful for that.

Can't wait to see the whole BSF gang on stage for the biggest send-off of my young life (but seriously, rest and heal, and don't even think about playing until you've completely recovered).

Sorry for the mother hen moment.

Peace!
