Josh In Philadelphia

Hi all –

You wouldn't believe the improvement in Josh from last week to this. It's nothing short of miraculous. Actually that might not be hyperbole. When he was admitted to University of Maryland, the X-Ray showed his neck was broken. It's not anymore. The admitting checkup at Magee Hospital in Philly showed no fractures in his neck. Josh said he's pretty sure it was broken, but it feels fine now. Like a phoenix raising from the ashes. . .

He's in a wheelchair now, so he can move around. His spirits are great. The hospital has this great patio garden on the top floor, where you can overlook the city. This is a very cool hospital, full of Philly Soul. He finally got to see his kids for the first time yesterday. His rehab work is very hard and very painful (he says it's just as hard as they make it look in the movies, that isn't exaggerated.)

Anyway it's good that he's out of the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit (and it's $1000 per hour pricetag!) for a number of reasons. The great news is that the 7 days he spent there are covered by Workman's Comp (that's. . . 168 hours) They are telling him he could be at this Philly hospital for as long as a month, but things are really looking good.

I'm mentioning the donation fund again and again just because I want to be able to post updates without moving the button far down the page for those of you who do want to help him out. I'm not trying to hit you all up for money over and over. And really, don't feel any pressure to give. If you're in debt or just barely paying your own bills, don't give money, just give kind words and prayers (that really seem to be working.)

If you'd rather send a check (cash, euros, diamonds) or something like that. You can send it to me at

Josh Latshaw Donation Fund
c/o Artichoke Artisans
406 Suburban Dr #177
Newark Delaware 19711

And if you're going to see any of the European shows, you can also give the band or merch people donations too.

Thats some great news to read after last nights great last show in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Although Josh was truly missed and not every song was played the way it used to be, which also made it fun, there was a lot of positive energy and a very nice setlist.
I just want to thank you guys for this great last show in The Netherlands and wish you all the best with the rest, especially Josh, who has to miss all the fun.

Yesterday in Hamburg was amazing!! What a great gig!! I said Robert he shall wish you (Josh) all the best (I hope he didn`t forget it :-)...)
And I hope the money I gave could help you and your family out (it weren't $168.000 (what an insane bill) but a little bit of it...)
Best regards and all the best for your future (and also for the other BSF members too)

Thats great to hear, remember when nathan was explaining "the difference between hoping and wishing" well there it is, we are hoping and doing something about it, i left a present and a small donation for you yesterday, at the concert in hamburg. The concert was nice, there is a different vibe to the band now that they are doing this farewell tour and sure its tough to "replace" your work on stage, the guys from flyswater "flo&flo" and the git tec are doing their best, matt pulled a great sounding acoustic on stage, they did 2 acoustics and somehow he is not playing his natural finish telli anymore, there were a couple of sg to represent you. And as I could gather yesterday, I´m not the only one remembering you smiling back at us. You were dearly missed, yet everyone is joyfull about your recovery.

keep the hard work just like rocky FEEL NO PaIN!!

Hey Guys
just wanted to tell you that the show last night in Hamburg was AMAZING! it was so emotional and i was about to cry a few times. And thank you guys for all that you've done the last years. You really changed my life and thanks again to Chad who gave me his plec and thanxs to Nathan to step in the crowd at the end and taking time for us and thanx to rob for kicking my butt on stage ;) YOU GUYS ARE JUST AMAZING. Take Care of you and make sure to spread your thoughts and let US know once in a while where you are and what you do. I'm sure we all wanna know. SO thanx again for everything!
And JOSH as far as i could see the donation box was pretty stuffed so it really comes from the heart and i hope everything will work out and you'll get ok soon.

Isn't funny how when stuff like this happens all you have to fall back on is God, so you do, and miracles happen, and then as time goes on you forget about Him until something really bad happens again. From what I've read, it seems He's really done some miraculous work for Josh, we should remember to thank Him for that, not just now, but always. He is great Lord, and worthy of our praise.
