london calling; or a tribute to friends, bandannas and flipflops

last day of tour. was a great short little ripper pretty much topped off by last night is essen which was killer, although could have been disastrous since a certain reggae band had an hour sound check and then played for two hours which is completely thoughtless. i guess too much smoking down babylon huh?

caliban was very gracious and cut thier set short so we could play some and for this we were very grateful. it was very nice of them to do this. anyway the show was a blast. although it was an ALL DAY event it was still a very nice time and we were treated with a lot of respect and all that good stuff you know. dinner was absolutely delish with a vegetarian noodle dish. yummy!
so every tour has a fad that catches on in the band whether it be certain video games or a catchphrase. i remember on our tour with death by stereo everything was uttered in a Creed like jawrock voice "YEEEEAH!" funny for us annoying for everyone else. on this tour it was definitlely bandannas and flip flops.
It started when i went to Corpo-Mart to buy socks for tour. i saw a three pack of bandannas in a corner and had to have them. i kept one and gave the others to gene and chris who are our loyal crew guys. we were a gang flying our colors. and everyone wore flipflops ....uh i guess i thought there was a beter story here. i guess not.
OH AND I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SWITZERLAND AND SWEDEN! SHUT UP! I MADE A MISTAKE! HOW IS YOUR BAND'S WEBLOG?

guess thats it right now. got some news coming soon. love and revolution...josh

I think it's time for NJ or DE again. When was the last time you played your home state anyway???!

Posted by: jack at July 8, 2006 02:37 PM

Yep. Essen was a blast.
But for what did the 2 or 3 people film that event? Another DVD? I guess Nathan said something like that but I didn't understand... it was too loud around me. ;)
And I didn't see one of you with a bandana. :-P

Anyway: have a good flight home!

See ya all in september on the Deconstruction Tour!

Dearest boysetsfire,

I realize this is probably neither the time nor the place, however, I have been meaning to tell you this for a long time now. I guess I could wait, but then this might never get done. I feel as though there are too many people doing far too much of nothing lately. I don't want to be one of those people that idlely stands by and does nothing. I want to thank you for making music I loved, but more importantly, for making music that inspires me.

Several months ago, I began volunteering for group called Constitution Summer. The purpose of Constitution Summer is to present a moderated, legitimate, mainstream, nonpartisan case for the impeachment of the President and Vice President based on four key crimes.

Those crimes are:
1) illegal, warrantless domestic spying in violation of the Foreign Surveillance Intelligence Act and the Constitution;
2) the designation of United States citizens as "enemy combatants" who, by such designation, have been subject to indefinite detention without charge or trial;
3) the initiation of an illegal war of aggression based on fraudulent claims; and
4) the countenance of extraordinary rendition and torture.

It is the view of the members of Constitution Summer that each of these charges constitutes an impeachable offense, and that each has been substantiated to the extent that articles of impeachment can legitimately be brought.

Since joining Constitution Summer, I've received a lot of positive feedback and support however, I'm considered unpatriotic and a disgrace by some(even by some in my family). Usually the comments don't bother me much, because I know I'm doing what's right. I listen to your music often to remind me of that. Thanks again.

Forever patriotic,

HI guys. I´m a big fan of your band here in Colombia. It would be really hardcore if you come and play here, a land where the war/conflict outside the major cities is fueled by USA dollars with the "Plan Colombia" thanks to our right wing president Álvaro Uribe.

I love your music and your ideas, but as many american bands you tend to forget Latinmerican fans and politics. It's not all about the war on Iraq, is about all the things where Bush and other corrupted American goverments have placed their dirty hand.

Please come here, learn some about our culture, our history, our rich traditional music and our very serious political analisis.

This is my rock related web page (www.andreselasmar.com) where you can listen to my band "Posdata" on the left menu. I'd love if you guys listen to it. It's not hardcore but I'd love to share it with u.

A big fuck yeah for boysetsfire, down with the empire and its fascism!

Does anyone know more concerning the Deconstruction tour? ...for the moment there are only 4 deconstr. gigs...
http://www.destiny-tourbooking.com/ (...and it seems that there will also be one at the Melkweg in Holland.)
...but Belgium is NOT one of them...which makes me oh so sad !!! ...will deconstruct have a stop in Belgium???

Hey guys!

A little late but still:
I had a good time seeing you play in Essen...(that goes for the rest of the team, too) despite the fact that I could only "witness" four or five songs since we had to do a lot of dishes. Ehm...did I mention that I am one of the catering-guys?...well...

Anyways, it was nice. we all had a killer time working backstage and we should be glad to be hired again! A show of the Deconstruction tour would be...great! Maybe at the Matrix-Club in Bochum...

Finally, we'd like to thank YOU for appreciating what we did since it was the first time we did it! And by the way: you were the only ones to tell us back in Essen.

Very finally: You've been around for quite some time...but I (hopefully..) didn't fail to recognize that the "fire" is still burning. (this just as a personal remark from my very own side.)

Bye

The catering-team.
