water fight
sorry the lapse betwixt updates. the shows have been a blast as always in europe with last night in bremen being an outrageous affair that ended in a stage drenching water fight. it was the most fun we have ever had in bremen, bar none. it was awesome.
this is how it started.
nathan has a habit of spitting water on stage from the very first note on so that by the end the whole stage is extremely slippery and we can barely walk around. last night we decided that enough was enough and it was high time there was justified retaliation.
on the first chord of rookie i grabbed one of the giant water bottles we are supplied with and opened it and chased nathan around the stage until he looked like he had just taken a bath. in his clothes. all while playing rookie.
of course didn’t take this lying down. he erupted in water a veritable aqua vesuvious spraying water in all directions. i hid successfully for a minute or two behind my cabinet but he was not to be denied. he caught me and sprayed from head to two in freezing cold water. the floor and our equipment looked like a water park.
lemme think...oh berlin was great although the police came and made us turn off the pa system because a neighbor complained. i thought that was odd since so36 is one of the greatest clubs in germany if not europe and it seemed strange that they would have such severe noise restrictions.
we are all doing well. tour is almost over. shows in sweden got cancelled so we only have two shows left then we have a three day berlin vacation which sounds heavenly to me. we were on a live tv show where eight girls tried to get nathan to do a strip tease and he refused. maybe i will talk about that later.
xoxoxo

your concert in schweinfurt was so fucking bad. were you guys drunken ?ipaid 14 euros for nothing -a tribute to nothing . haha . your sound was really terrible like the songs from your new album
Posted by: Anonymous at March 30, 2006 02:22 PM
Soneji--you need to put down your guns and relax. A good deal. It was another funny story they told. Every once in a while it might do you some good to just laugh a little when you hear one...I know these guys personally; they aren't crazy money-spenders with no regard for what they have and you are pretty ridiculous to have only inferred that from their story.
Maybe if you weren't so hostile someone with what is known as a sense of humor would start a water fight with you and you could see how fun they can be.
Posted by: jessica at March 30, 2006 02:40 PM
But you were right about one thing; They are dickwads.
Posted by: Dick Ronkulous at March 30, 2006 02:42 PM
From one Jess to another-I totally agree with you, relax Soneji. These guys work really hard and happen to be terrific individuals. Soneji- if you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all.

what tv show?! oh come on, nathan you bastard :P...when 8 (!) girls ask for a stip tease, well, that´s "just like heaven"!
Posted by: nothing at March 30, 2006 07:35 PM
used to be nathan would strip naked without even being asked, back in the good old days.
Posted by: fan at March 30, 2006 08:21 PM
thanks for the great show in schweinfurt... hope we can see you soon again in schweinfurt. the new album is awesome, i really like it

the show in berlin was great but I don't think so, that the so36 is one of the greatest club in germany, I don't like it :(
Posted by: dave at March 31, 2006 03:51 AM
dont say that it was great, that makes me sad again and again, why was it sold out :=)
ich schreibs auch noch vorher hierein, dass ich hoffe es is nicht ausverkauft, naja schicksal, nächste mal
Posted by: heaven at March 31, 2006 04:08 AM
jo eben, das nächste mal, denke ich werde auch wieder dabei sein ;)
Posted by: dave at March 31, 2006 04:11 AM
the problem with so36 is always that you think: well they're supposed 2 be experienced leftwing guys and then you have to pay round about 15-17 euros for shit sound - the guitars were mud only - and a room so stuffed with people you can hardly move at all. this is simply unfair! Before 2000 I paid less than half the money for better sound.
Posted by: rubyfruit at March 31, 2006 06:05 AM
yes I think so...and the club is very small
Posted by: dave at March 31, 2006 06:55 AM
We hoped to see you in Lund, Sweden tomorrow (April 1), but I just saw it was canceld. Why?
Posted by: Mikael at March 31, 2006 07:19 AM
Haha... yes the show in Bremen was great. Like always...
But now I've got blue (and black) marks on my legs, it hurts so much... In Bremen it was the first time for me on a BSF-show (and I've been to many shows, you guys know that) I was stagediving... was pretty cool.
But the club in Hamburg... haha. Water (Sweat) everywhere...
BTW: does someone have my jacket (green) and/or my black bag? EVERYTHING is in there... The Interview with Chad, my money, car license, camera all my bsf-album-covers... I lost it on the student party...
Has one of you (Amanda, Kathrin, Tobi, Lena or some of you guys) seen it??? Then please e-mail me at tanja@boy-sets-fire.de!!!
Thanx!

josh and the rest -
my apologies, I have been a bastard. I should get a life. I don't know what my problem is. I'm sorry.
Posted by: soneji at March 31, 2006 10:25 AM
Why have you guys cancelled the gig in Gothenburg? Where looking forward to it!!
/M.
Posted by: Mikael at March 31, 2006 11:25 AM
How come the Sweden shows got cancelled?
Best regards

Hey just wanted to say you guys are pretty fuckin awesome. I was in Bremen doing a Dirtbike demo and caught the show. Ive been in Europe doing nothing for the last month besides riding on the weekends so to be able to see my fav band was bitchen. Hopefully get to catch up with you in the states and see another show. You guys should play Curtain Call in the set, by far the raddest song.
Posted by: Mase at April 3, 2006 03:17 PM
Hey don't listen to this guy who said your show in Schweinfurt sucked. Probably he's a Bavarian, they always complain (and vote christian democrats :-P )
NO really, it was awesome, you rocked!
Come again to germany, there is a city called Freiburg, which has 2 advantages: firstly, there is a huge Punk scene and secondly:it is NOT in fucking Bavaria ;-) would be pleased to see you guys playing a gig there!
