a blast was had by all last night at good old rex’s where we played a pretty insane show to many of our friends. all the bands were great saturday night. the ratchets played an enjoyable set of clash influenced rock which really excited robert and myself, not to mention the throngs of eager music and beer fans which showed up to check out all the bands. the ratchets are from new jersey and you can check them out here.
next up were blackthroat an am-rep style band from good ol’ delaware. me and matt are big fans of these guys and actually have nicknamed ourselves the blackheads (my idea, pretty funny huh!) they didn’t play long enough though. they have an album coming out in april put out by good old scott wasserman, a local legend.
one broken ankle, one broken head, three broken bottles and dozens of bruised shins? oh that must be all else failed from the philly area who were definitely awesome. they killed it as always. we have been playing with these guys since way back. i remember watching them ripping shirts off each other as they played. (hmmm, as i type this it seems a little homo-erotic, but it wasn’t, i don’t think?)
then we played, not getting on stage until nearly one in the morning. i gotta say, it was really fun playing. we played a decently long set, even throwing in in hope due to requests.
