Your new song is awesome, guys! I mean it--it sounds so good...

Posted by: Jessica at January 13, 2006 05:41 PM

Guys....if this is the kind of stuff which is gonna make up most of 'Plague Years', you're gonna be at the end of even more crap about going soft and being sellouts than you were with TCT. Having said that, it's brilliant. Nathan's got an amazing voice and it sounds like in this album he's actually gonna get to use it...as ever, the quality of the music is top-notch, sounds like some there are some kickass melodies in there......lyrics are about as poetic, passionate and clever as I've heard in recent years.

All in all, I can't wait till the 24th, and I'll be booking my tickets for the London gig soon after....btw, according to UK music mag Kerrang's review of your London gig in December, you "couldn't disappoint live if they tried", so kudos for that one!

Peace,
>Ben

Song is awesome - can't wait until I have The Misery Index in my hands. In my opinion, BSF has been getting better and better ever since I first came across their music in 1999. Keep it up guys! It isn't about the style you adopt, it's about the quality of emotions and meaning you pass along with your work.

Posted by: Mikhail at January 13, 2006 06:53 PM

"We´re still here. All together. All alone"... this part is unbelievable... Nathan´s voice, this true sentences... goose-struck.

Like I sad before: if the album is as good as this song... than it´ll be the best I´ve ever heard.

Nathan, I adore your voice!
I really do.

Good work, guys... I´m kinda speechless.

Posted by: Tanja at January 13, 2006 11:15 PM

i like it too, makes me remember why i like you guys so much

Posted by: Mikey at January 14, 2006 05:55 AM

Awesome song and i`am very anxious to the misery index

reminds me of "unspoken request" i like it.
can't wait for the album....

Posted by: Andy at January 14, 2006 08:19 AM

It's just totally great...nothing more to say.
Can't wait for the day i'll write it first on the wishlist of my fav club...and for the day i'll enjoy the new album live...march 26th, here i come. ;)

Posted by: Dana at January 14, 2006 08:23 AM

Sellouts...

Posted by: Voltron at January 14, 2006 11:39 AM

I really enjoy the song, you can just...hear the passion that you guys have about your music. And that is what it's about. Who cares who thinks you're a "sell out" like the w@nk above? It took real men for you guys to do what you did with you're old label, and it just speaks of the determination that you guys have to play what you want, how you want. Keep on rocking guys - your quality seems to know no ends, and anyone with half a brain can feel the passion you guys have. Good luck in the new year.

Posted by: Ryan at January 14, 2006 12:59 PM

I have it on good authority that while Voltron IS indeed a w@nk, he also was being sarcastic with his comment above and Requiem is actually one of his favorite songs.

Posted by: jason at January 14, 2006 01:51 PM

voltron is one of the most meanspirited posters we have on here! jason and collin, can we get him banned for life from everything? let me know. josh

Posted by: joshua Latshaw at January 14, 2006 02:43 PM

As Goethe, when he had a joy or a grief, put it into a song, so Laurie resolved to embalm his love sorrow in music, and to compose a Requiem which should harrow up Jo's soul and melt the heart of every hearer.
Little Women by Alcott, Louisa May

Kind of funny because recently my favorite tune has been "Requiem" by World's Fastest Car. Now I can still say it's "Requiem" and just change the band name. Incredible song, I'm salivating for the CD.

Posted by: Russtopher at January 14, 2006 07:12 PM

Am I being censored?

Posted by: Voltron at January 15, 2006 01:23 AM

this is sooooo great!!!
i loved the song since i first heard it last year...
really cant wait much longer til 02/27

Posted by: loanha at January 15, 2006 08:35 AM

Yeaahh I love you, I wanna die for you, you are probable the best band in the world...
Seems to be many Groupies are pesent ;)

But the song is great, rock on!!

Posted by: huii at January 15, 2006 10:35 AM

Think I would be considered a groupie?

Posted by: Jack at January 15, 2006 11:14 AM

Requiem is a pretty cool track but im loving Falling Out Theme and that nice sounding (nylon?) acoustic at the start of (10) and Counting.

Fucking GREAT new cd guys, cant wait till it hits the stores so I can buy a copy.

Many thanks for making my working week in this office so much more bareable :) Yous should come to New Zealand some kind - Im sick of hearing the rumours then being gutted every single time they are denied..

These horns in So Long... And Thanks For The Crutches are awesome. Amazing vocals too :D

Posted by: Jay at January 15, 2006 03:21 PM

how did you get the CD?

Posted by: jason at January 15, 2006 09:35 PM

hope you don't mind, as these things happen and i have little self control, but i downloaded the new record. and i have to say it is fucking incredible, no offense but i didn't really connect with TCT (not saying it was a bad record by any means), but this album is incredible. you boys have really blown me away, and i had very high expectations...

thanks for making such great music.

Posted by: Anonymous at January 16, 2006 12:28 PM

like the person above me, i downloaded your album. i have to say it's the most refreshing surprise of your catalogue. this is the most brutal and honest work of protest i've heard in ages. it pulls no punches and i will be first in line for it come the release day.

congrats on such a massive album, which i believe is the first absolutely necessary record of 2006.

Posted by: colin at January 16, 2006 03:10 PM

Wasn´t the beginning of "Walk astray" played at the beginning of the shows in december??? I´m sure it was... Anyway: LOVE IT. Great work guys. I´ll buy the album anyway!!!!!

Posted by: Tanja at January 16, 2006 03:32 PM

I hope there will be soon lyrics out!

Posted by: phab at January 16, 2006 04:11 PM

Hmm that's the whole fun about getting your own copy of the CD when it comes out and reading the lyrics where you can't make it out. :)

Posted by: Mikhail at January 17, 2006 06:44 PM

There we go, Requiem lyrics are "out"! :) Thats so great :P

Posted by: phab at January 18, 2006 05:16 AM

guys...you are just plain awsome!!! You keep getting better and better....I don't know how much better you can become...its like impossible, thats how good you guys got. I absoluley love your emotions within your music. And I love the new song, keep it up!!!

-Max

Posted by: Max at January 18, 2006 08:14 AM

A very disappointing song, indeed. The rumors are true: the flame in boysetsfire is officially out.

RIP girlsetsfire.

Posted by: TommyGun at January 19, 2006 10:54 AM

Don't like it? Don't listen to it, don't comment on it, get lost - you're obviously missing the whole big picture.

Posted by: Mikhail at January 19, 2006 06:07 PM

no!!!!! fuck BSF do not do this to me!, go back to were u where when u wrote songs from " the day the sun went out" or "after the euolgy". I swear if this is another TCT ill just go back to me other shitty bands.... (cry)I bought before the eulogy, "turn the key" is utterly amazing

Posted by: brett at January 19, 2006 09:23 PM

Relax people. This album is nothing like anything you've heard before. Who judges the album by one song? It's like judging a book by its cover. This album is pure quality from start to end, I can tell you that for sure.

Posted by: Mikhail at January 19, 2006 10:14 PM

I agree with Mikhail.
That album is great. And it´s not like TCT. And not like ATE. It´s different... sure. But it´s good.

Posted by: Tanja at January 20, 2006 05:10 AM

I'm listening to the whole album. Right now. And it's real good.

Posted by: Dick Ronkulous at January 20, 2006 09:01 PM

I just got the new record and it`s very good!!!
Be sure that I will buy it!!
You definitely have deserved to get the money for this great job!!
So, drinking some (or more) Beck´s now and enjoying a great evening with great music!!

Posted by: muh at January 21, 2006 01:48 PM

(paranoid) yeah i guess Mikhail ir right.... ,wait, what "new record"? misery index or before the eulogy?

Posted by: brett at January 21, 2006 10:10 PM

misery

Posted by: muh at January 22, 2006 05:54 AM

Well done guys !! The new record is f*cking great !!
Favorite songs for this moment: Walk Astray and The Misery Index (Awesome song!)
