of mice men and backup vocals
we are so close to getting this thing done. our fourth record and this one only took us what four years?
september 16
so chad has been doing great, really sounding awesome at his vocals. apparently nathan is just crushing him, screaming and just being mean to the poor guy. i believe he is almost done and then....i go.
moan..i hate recording. it is just so difficult. especially when you are alone in the little hot booth behind the glass with everyone laughing and having fun on the other side and you dont even know if they are listening to you or laughing a you or what. i guess i start my screams tonight. i guess i better find some stuff that makes me angry which isn’t that hard right now, with the way the world is going. do you guys know that castro offered to send 1300 doctors to help in new orleans and we denied them? i guess our pride is more important than people drowning in our back yard. this record is almost done. we are very excited.

Yeah, Nathan can be BRUTAL when "coaching" your vocal performance. But then again. . . there are always the tender moments when he lets his guard down and croons a duet with you.

I think the last update was he offered 1500 doctors and each would have 27 pounds of supplies, still no reply from us. On an up note, I can't wait to hear the new cd. It's nice having gone from no updates from BSF at all to having one almost everyday. Any rough idea for a release yet?

yep. the record will come out late january or early feb of 2006. it is weirder and stronger and more twisted than even i had been dreaming...a lot of different stuff going on.
it will at least not be considered mediocre, hated at best ; )

just downloaded my first new boy sets fire song. i just go ahead and assume at this point that i will love every album you guys can put out. since your last album i virtually gave up my posthardcoreemoindiepunk whatever the hell its called now, mostly because of the lack of stimulating music. i havent bought a cd outsire of the hip hop section in a year. its bad. I wasnt sure if i would be lucky enough to get another boy sets fire record, and it made my day when i heard this site was up. thanks for all the music over all the years. thanks for all the shows, and all the times you treated your fans as human beings and not just fans. thanks for the beer and tits in toledo even though there was virtually no one at the show(we drove from flint-and i really hate everything about ohio). when i was 17 i left my first real spring break trip a day early and drove with my best friend from colorado to lincoln and the show was 18+. he had a fake id, i looked like i was 15. didnt get to see the show because ticketmaster failed to post online that the show was 18 and over. i got completely soaked trying to get into the show, and had to have a system to get some merch and you guys cared. your music has meant alot to me over the years. every album has been been a staple in the cd changer. i can only imagine how much time i have dumped into listening the day the sun went out. i have to put after the eulogy in for at least 6 songs after a couple days , its like my nicotine. cant wait to buy the album, hope the new record label works well. a new album means new shows, so now i will wait for that.

the new songs are awesome.
the story about wind-up blows.
i'm so glad to see bsf continuing a musical purpose and not one for financial gain. just when i think i have to say goodbye to another one of my favorite bands you guys go out and do something like this. i personally say thank you. you'll continue to be one of my favorites [since i saw you guys play an amnesty international show at my high school w/ no p.a.]
keep doin' what you're doin'

turn those backup vocals up!
the harmonies are the best! on Last Year's Nest, that's pretty much what makes the song for me!
